The objective of this project is to (re)design selected irrigation and drainage systems located in five river basins of Madhya Pradesh, both at macro and micro levels, so as to rehabilitate and modernize them with agricultural intensification and diversification, fulfilling the objectives of their environmentally and socially sustainable operations (around 620.000 ha).
Master's degree in Irrigation / Water Ressources / Hydraulic engineering with at least 15 years of experience in designing irrigation systems in both developed and developing countries using advanced techniques.
Participation includes : review of design documents, interviews with farmers, familiarization with local policy, formulation of design criteria, design of rehabilitation / improvement works (irrigation and drainage systems, canal embankments and network, measuring and flow control devices, real time monitoring equipment, supervisory control), training and technology transfer.
