Responsibilities
Food Security Activities
• Supervise and monitor implemented activities : Food production activities, Income Generation activities
• Constantly re-evaluate our target population to ensure that we do effectively reach the most vulnerable
• Assess how nutritional indicators can be worked into the selection criteria
Food Security Surveillance
• Ensure the implementation of the regular Food Security surveillance
• Ensure at least one topic focused Food Security survey per year
• Analyse the data and draw up a report outlining the Food Security trends for the area
Education Activity
• Vocational training/Community capacity building
• Work very closely with the WatSan and Hygiene education teams who already have a few years experience in this field and try and identify fields in which synergies can be created
• Assist in integrating the HE / Hydro / Food Security programmes into one relevant and coherent programme adapted to the local community
• Identify existing community organisations working in the field of Food Security such as local rice banks, credit or saving schemes and see how to strengthen these. Team Management/ trainings
• Manage the members of the teams through counseling, establish of objectives that will help each staff member reach his/her full potential and achieve the objectives of the program, regular evaluations, discipline as needed
• Provide regular trainings to the staff as required
• With the HOP and FS coordinator, ensure good coordination and relations between the other ACF programs (Watsan and Hygiene Education which are part of the same project, Nutrition which is a separated project) and the logistics and administrative teams.

Expériences
Have experience in Food Production and Income Generation projects. Have experience in community participation and capacity building. Have a very good knowledge of data collection and analysis. One year on a similar programme. Lots of practical and common sense, curiosity and analytical skills are needed. Capacity for collaboration/coordination with the other expats. A high level of autonomy is needed.
Contract and conditions
CDD, 1 year from December 2010.
Volunteer for candidates with less than 24 months experience in the aid sector:
- Length of contract: 1 year renewable - All expenses paid in the field: travel out/return, collective accommodation, meals and hygiene expenses - Indemnity of €838 net per month paid in France + allowance of €200 net paid on the mission - Social security, complementary health, repatriation insurance and contribution to a pension - Recovery time break of one week every 3 or 6 months depending on mission - Training of 2 to 3 weeks, achieved in Paris before leaving on mission
Salaried contracts for candidates with at least 24 months of field experience with an INGO:
- Fixed-term contract - All expenses paid in the field: return travel, collective or individual accommodation depending on position and family, meals and hygiene expenses - Monthly salary ranging from €1500 to €2425 gross depending on the position and experiences + Allowance of €200 net paid on the mission - Social security, medical insurance, repatriation insurance and contribution to a pension in the French system - 2.08 days of accrued leaves per working month - 20 days of extra leaves per working year - Training of 2 to 3 weeks, achieved in Paris before leaving on mission
