The main tasks and activities relevant to both positions include:
- Support to the development and implementation of environmental strategies and policies at different decision making scales (from local to EU), in particular via the application of qualitative and quantitative socio-economic assessment methods and tools;
- Assessment of the value of ecosystem goods and services, including the application of valuation methods such as contingent valuation, choice experiment, travel costs, etc. ;
- Support to the design and implementation of economic instruments (environmental taxes/subsidies, tradable permits, payment for ecosystem services, etc.);
- Research on innovative economic concepts, methods and tools in the field of environment;
- Reporting key study’s results to policy and decision makers at different decision making scales;
- Organisation of/contribution to awareness raising and policy workshops, conferences and training, in particular with regards to (environmental) economics;
- Contribution to the development of new projects & research proposals;
Profil recherché
• Minimum M.Sc./engineering degree in the field of environmental economics, environmental policy or economics with specialisation in environmental issues. A PhD is considered as an advantage;
• Successful experience in research and/or consulting and/or state administration in the field of environmental policy, economic and/or environmental economics ;
• Expertise in data collection (surveys/interviews, focus group....) and data analysis methods & tools. Skills and interest in quantitative methods/tools (modelling, econometrics, etc.) and related software (GAMS, STATA, R, etc.), including the development and use of databases (Access, MySQL,), are seen as an advantage;

• Experience in EU policy making (any sector and/or environmental policy) and a very good understanding of French and EU policy making & institution;
• Expertise in the facilitation of multi-stakeholder processes & projects;
• Excellent French and English (written & oral) communication skills, a third (EU) language or Russian being seen as an advantage;
