STOVEPLUS
StovePlus is a program launched by GERES in 2012. It aims to support and strengthen the clean cooking sector in Southeast Asia and West Africa. The project intends to meet the needs of the communities through the professional development of the concerned sectors and the sharing of best practices and technical solutions developed by GERES in its various projects.
Following the program development plan and an increase in activity level, the program seeks one qualified candidate to fill the position of Regional Technical Advisor for Southeast Asia.
The Regional Technical Advisor will be part of the technical expertise unit of the program. The technical expertise of the program focuses on, but not limited to, support to production and distribution of:
• Clean and efficient biomass energy stoves for household use;
• Clean and efficient biomass energy stoves for small-scale industries;
• Alternative solid biomass fuel.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
• Contribute to the design of intervention strategies in Southeast Asia according to StovePlus’ services;
• Contribute, together with the management team, to prospecting for clients of StovePlus through networking, field visits, presentations of the program and its approach, and managing client relations;
• Identify and form groups of experts through the Roster of Experts and other networks to ensure service delivery;
• Participate in the hiring of experts and provide direction on the technical components of their roles;
• Provide backstopping and advisory services to StovePlus experts (consultants, field coordinators, etc.);
• Ensure the quality control of service package delivery through guidance, review and recommendations;
• Contribute to the design and implementation of program Monitoring System across program activities;
• Act as a technological watch committee member of StovePlus in the region and globally concerning stove and fuel businesses support methodologies, and contribute to program communication on its activities;
• Identify transferable initiatives and expertise, and participate in the development of relevant knowledge tool(s) ;
• Design and deliver technical trainings to identified target groups based on needs and intervention design.
Profil recherché
REQUIREMENTS
• Master’s degree in Economics or Business,
• Project Cycle Management and Research skills training
• At least 3 years, preferably 5 years in the international development sector or business development sector (including Southeast Asia )
• Proficient in project/program management, ability to innovate and transfer these skills
• Proven experience in business development in developing context, in particular with SMEs and/or to the BoP
• Desirable: Experience of environmental, energy or natural resources management focused projects
• Desirable: Experience of research and development and related good practice
• Full professional proficiency in English, working knowledge of French is an asset
• Knowledge of energy access, household and/or rural energy, rural habitat and environmental issues
• Understanding of standard and labeling schemes, energy policies and regulations, actors of development
• Strong project coordination and integration skills
• Strong research, analytic, and critical thinking skills
CONDITIONS

• Location : Cambodia, with frequent travel within Asia and occasionally to Europe and Africa
• Salary according to GERES grid, depending on applicant’s profile and experiences.
