As subsidiaries of the Egis Group, specialised in engineering and infrastructure services (more than 10,000 employees in France, India and worldwide), Egis Rail and Egis India have proven know-how in public transport, railways and high speed rail lines. They employ more than 900 professionals from every discipline devoted to major projects in France, India and around the world: metro systems, LRTs, regional railways, high speed lines, etc.
The Kolkata Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (KMRC) is planning the construction of a second metro line through the city. This line will be about 15 km long, partly elevated, partly underground. Tendering for the rolling stock package has started. Contract award is foreseen during the first half of 2011.
KMRC designated early 2009 as general consultant an international consortium with Egis Rail as Systems (incl. Rolling Stock) Consultant. The scope of services to be delivered by the consortium covers the entire project life: design and tendering activities, monitoring during the construction/manufacturing, installation and tests stages, preparation of the operation and maintenance.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Within an international and Indian project team, the resident Rolling Stock Team Leader is in charge of:
• Managing a local team of rolling stock engineers;
• Assisting the Owner in negotiating the contract with the preferred bidder;
• Managing the supervision and monitoring of the rolling stock contractor: day-to-day contract management, design review, interface management, supervision of manufacturing, installation, tests & commissioning;
• Reporting to the Systems Project Manager;
• Liaising with other Project Managers in charge of other rail systems: track, power supply, signalling/telecom...

Profil recherché
.Senior engineer in rolling stock, MRT preferably, with at least 10 years experience in a similar position. Successful references of technical management of rolling stock procurement contracts will be appreciated,
.Graduation : Minimum BSc,
.Full command of written and spoken English,
.Strong team spirit including cross-cultural references,
.Experience in developing countries as well as attachments to training/research centres or chartered professionals will be appreciated.
