The Human Resources Specialist within the Human Resources group is responsible for becoming proficient in all aspects of the HR Department including the maintenance of employee records, supporting site leadership inquiries, benefits administration and records, Health and Safety and training and development reporting. The HR Specialist will work with the HR Manager to develop new programs and procedures as well as enhancing existing programs. The Human Resources specialist contributes to the accomplishment of HR practices and objectives that provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards and goal attainment with a focus on the DEGREMONT Way.
Duties and responsibilities
· Ability to backup and support the HR department by learning all aspects of benefits admin, reporting, payroll, the basics of employment law in Canada and the US, recruiting, Health and Safety and new employee orientation
· Develop and maintain relationships with employees including salaried, hourly and contract employees
· Take the lead on special projects as assigned and coordinate with the admins and HR Manager
· Review policies and procedures to update and enhance
· Assist HR Manager in the implementation new projects as defined by the HR plan for the Industrial Solutions group
· Organize and coordinate all reporting throughout the year so deliverables are on time
Profil recherché
Requirement
· University graduate with a focus on Human Resources
· 1 year of experience working in an HR related role
· Leadership skills, customer focused and effective oral and written communication in English
· Excellent interpersonal skills
· Able to exhibit a high level of confidentiality
· Detail oriented combined with good organizational skills
· Ability to work in teams and independently
· Advanced proficiency Excel, Word and PowerPoint
· Exposure to SAP an asset
