The post will involve in particular:
•conducting and managing EFI research activities in European forest economics
•initiating new projects and active engagement in fundraising
•networking in the sector of forest economics and strengthening collaboration in Europe in this field
•compiling and analysing European data on e.g. profitability of forests, forest ownership structures, forest land prices, wood-energy
•contributing to EFI concerted action on profitability of European forest ecosystem services and non-wood goods.
The applicant should have a Master’s Degree (or equivalent). An applicant with a PhD in forest economics is preferred. He/she should have as a minimum four years of working experience and knowledge in following research fields:
•economic values/ profitability of forest ecosystem services and non-wood goods
•forest administration and business economics
•wood consumption, trade and potentials of sustainable timber supply
•European/international forest policy and information processes.
