Chef de projet senior Sites et Sols Pollués (H/F)

ERM is looking for a driven and experienced Senior Consultant to join the Liability Portfolio Management and Remediation team in Paris or Lyon. You will manage interesting site investigation, risk assessment and complex soil remediation projects throughout France, for ERM global key clients. This is an opportunity for a consultant looking to further progress their career in a leading global environmental, social and sustainability consulting firm.

About the service you will offer to our clients

ERM’s Site Investigation & Risk Assessment and Remediation Management Services are aimed at helping clients resolve environmental liabilities and realize maximum value from their contaminated land challenges. We strive to develop risk-based soil and groundwater remediation strategies to protect human health and ecology, whilst satisfying our clients’ business goals and meeting regulatory obligations. We manage their risks and clean up their balance sheets, while keeping a close eye on costs and managing stakeholders’ expectations. Our global services include site investigation, risk assessment, remediation and redevelopment strategy development and implementation to help capture value from our clients’ active facilities and discontinued operations across the globe, supported by decommissioning and demolition services where needed.

Your main responsibilities will be:

- Manage large scale and multi-site projects for ERM’s major clients, typically in chemical, manufacturing and oil & gas industries. These projects involve complex site investigation and remediation programmes and require a good working knowledge of French contaminated land legislation.

- Work in close collaboration with other consultants, technical experts and partners in international teams to deliver these projects within client’s scope/budget/schedule expectations; ensure high quality and technical excellence.

- Ensure the most suitable technical solutions are presented to the client, using both innovative / emerging remedial treatment technologies as well as traditional systems. Stay current and lead the adoption of innovative approaches to site investigation and remediation.

- Write complete technical reports and proposals; liaise with subcontractors to negotiate prices.

- Build strong and effective working relationships with clients, project teams, other ERM services and business units (BU). Participate in business development with existing clients and identified leads to ensure own and BU sales targets are met.

- Plan and oversee the work of (junior) colleagues and subcontractors on complex field activities.

- Mentor junior staff and appropriately delegate project assignments to project team members.

- Perform health and safety planning and oversight: ensure safety of oneself and team members during project operations.

Profil recherché

Our ideal candidate:

- Master or PhD degree in an environmental discipline such as earth sciences, environmental sciences, physical geography, hydrology/hydrogeology, geology, geochemistry, chemistry or similar.

- 7+ years’ experience as an environmental consultant or managing projects as a remediation contractor.

- Solid experience in groundwater modelling and/or human health risk assessment would be a plus

- Demonstrable track record in successful project management; confident in facing clients and regulators.

- Fluent French speaker, highly proficient in English (written and spoken).

- Driven, eager-to-learn, able to multitask, open communicator, proactive in tackling problems and providing solutions, analytic mindset.

- Thrives in a collaborative working environment but is also able to work independently.

- Effective written and verbal communication, organization and analytical skills.

- Strong commitment to safety, including following established Health and Safety protocols.

- Is willing to travel for work to perform site visits, meet clients, kick-off projects and chair on-site project progress meetings.

- Has a driving license (B).
