GENERAL DESCRIPTION
EDPR is currently offering an internship for an Environmental Specialist with an understanding of Environmental Impact Assessment and ISO 14001 Certification.
The position will be at the EDP Renewables France head office located in Paris. Nevertheless, the candidate must have the flexibility to undertake domestic and international travel as required. The projects under management are in France and Belgium and therefore fluency in French is required as well as in English. Fluency in other languages, particularly Spanish or Portuguese, will be considered favorably.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
1) Mission:
To work with the Environmental Manager in the implementation of the company Environmental Management System across all stages of wind farm projects: development, construction and operation.
2) Main Responsibilities:
Assisting the Environmental Manager in:
- Developing the company procedures for Planning Applications, Environmental Impact Assessments and post-construction environmental monitoring;
- Contracting and reviewing Environmental Impact Assessments;
- Implementing the Environmental Management System for projects in construction;
- Helping to achieve ISO 14001 certification for all operational wind farms and assisting in the assembly of all necessary documentation.
REQUIREMENTS
Academic Skills: Undergraduate or Masters Degree in Environmental Science and / or Biology / Ecology.
Professional Experience: N/A
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE
Languages: Ability to read, write and speak English and French fluently, Spanish and / or Portuguese would be viewed favourably.
Skills/Competencies:
- Knowledge and understanding of Environmental Management Systems;
- Strong knowledge and understanding of environmental issues, processes and impacts;
- Basic knowledge of national and European environmental legislation;
- An understanding of the ISO 14001 certification process;
- Strong organizational skills;
- Good interpersonal skills;
- Excellent writing skills (English and French);
- Good I.T. skills.
Other: Working knowledge of Geographic Information System (G.I.S) will be viewed as advantageous.
