Project development and quality leader H/F

Description du poste

Main responsibilities include:

The person undertakes and supervises operations on climate and energy assets, programmes and new business services lines related to project development at EcoAct Group level. He/she contributes to develop field projects, assets transactions and assists business development teams during the sales process when necessary. The position is based in Paris (with international travels).

Field projects management and project origination expertise
- Support to field project development and monitoring (from pre-feasibility studies to carbon credits issuance phase) in liaise with local teams and DOEs;
- Support the development of new special programmes on Agroforestry and REDD+;
- Develop new e-monitoring tools and softwares;
- Build new opportunities and support to innovation/project/programmes development in liaise with R&D.

Current portfolio support & development
- Identify, develop the carbon credits portfolio & renewable certificates (sourcing);
- Undertake desk and field due diligence assessments (projects risk evaluation, EcoScore, etc.);
- Collection, centralization and storage of project information, prices ranges, vintages, contacts, contracts (VERPAs, MoUs, Cooperation Agreements).

Process and quality management
- Management of energy attributes certificates (I-RECs, GOs, etc.) and offset (VERs, CERs…) operations in liaise with respective Registries and Tools;
- Update and manage follow-up of the Registers’ processes;
- Support the annual internal audits (ICROA; ECOCERT/Bureau Veritas) in liaise with other key staff and direction;
- Contribute to the evolution of the Internal Carbon Register and processes (specification, IT development, test, implementation).

Market intelligence & methodology development
- Gather industry trends and understand client needs in liaise with R&D;
- Undertake the lead of a sharp market intelligence regarding carbon credits, notably on a Post-2020 scenario;
- Participate to market studies and methodologies development on new assets like RECs, co-benefits, water certificates, ADALYs, gender, vulnerability reduction, blue carbon, forests, negative emission technologies, insetting, to mention a few.

Business development support
- Support to sales and business development (contribute to tenders, offers, customer visits and presentation, customized solution for customers).

Location: The position will be based in our Headquarters in Paris with international travels.

Compensation: Competitive salary and benefits package in line with experience.

Profil recherché

Knowledge / Skills / Attitudes :
The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years’ experience within carbon and sustainability projects and services.

Language: French and English with fluency; Spanish is a plus.

Required Skills:

- Offset market and mechanisms understanding;
- Understanding of carbon credits cycle and stakes, experience with certification is a plus;
- Collaborative and independent - both team player and being able to work autonomously;
- Ability to analyse information and support the development of appropriate strategies and plans;
- Creative, rigorous and organized ;
- Able to work under pressure and solve conflicts;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Ability to represent EcoAct in key meetings and create confidence.

Education/Experience:
- Proven experience in the sustainable development sector, and in particular sourcing of carbon credits;
- Ability to work with databases, numbers and statistics (excellent mastery of Microsoft Office, Access, R, MRV tools Access, SPSS, etc.) ;
- Confirmed high abstraction level and problem solver with Master level, business or technical engineer background.

Relationships: Reporting to the Head of the Project Development and Portfolio Management Unit of EcoAct’s headquarter, the leader will be required to work with all EcoAct’s offices in Europe, North America and Africa, to achieve Company objectives.
