As part of your mission, you will be mainly responsible for:
- Performing a bibliographic synthesis in order to establish a state of the art on coupled multiphysical (hydro-geophysical) modeling integrating multiphasic phenomena (water/pollutant/air) that are essentials for the study of LNAPL behavior;
- Carrying out measurements of complex electrical resistivity and permittivity at the laboratory scale (1D and 2D tanks) to describe coupled geophysical, chemical and hydraulic phenomena;
- Developing a computation code to couple the models of the tri-phasic flow and the complex electrical resistivity in order to predict the hydro-geophysical behavior. This code will be validated by laboratory experiments;
- Valorizing results (conferences and rank A publications).
You hold a PhD degree in Geophysics for less than five years (Electrical/Electromagnetic methods) and/or in numerical modeling of multiphase flow in porous media.
Profile:
You hold a PhD degree for less than 5 years and have research experience in the field of geophysical and/or multiphysical modeling attested by rank A publications.
You will use the following skills and qualities:
- Proficiency in multiphase flow modeling of porous media and processing of geophysical data;
- Good knowledge in electrical and/or electromagnetic methods;
- Interest for experimentation; a first experience of laboratory experimentations would be a plus;
- Proficiency in English (read, written, spoken);
- Interest in multidisciplinary teamwork;
- Initiative and autonomy.
