Mission:
To work with the Environmental Manager in the implementation of the company Environmental Management System across all stages of wind farm projects: development, construction and operation.
Main Responsibilities:
Assisting the Environmental Manager in:
• Developing the company procedures for Planning Applications, Environmental Impact Assessments and post-construction environmental monitoring;
• Contracting and reviewing Environmental Impact Assessments;
• Implementing the Environmental Management System for projects in construction;
• Helping to achieve ISO 14001 certification for all operational wind farms and assisting in the assembly of all necessary documentation.
Academic Skills: Undergraduate or Masters Degree in Environmental Science and / or Biology / Ecology.
Languages: Ability to read, write and speak English to a good level and French fluently, Spanish and / or Portuguese would be viewed favourably.
Skills/Competencies:
• Knowledge and understanding of Environmental Management Systems;
• Strong knowledge and understanding of environmental issues, processes and impacts;
• Basic knowledge of national and European environmental legislation;
• An understanding of the ISO 14001 certification process;
• Strong organizational skills;
• Good interpersonal skills;
• Excellent writing skills (English and French);
• Good I.T. skills.
Other: Working knowledge of Geographic Information System (G.I.S) will be viewed as advantageous.
