Ghg project analyst/manager h/f

Description du poste

Working within the core team and with our partner organizations, the GHG Project Analyst/Manager will be responsible for contributing to the completion of a variety of projects related to GHG accounting; including methane avoidance, fuel efficiency, agriculture, forestry and other greenhouse gas emission reduction projects.

Job duties include contributing to the following project activities:

* Assessing project feasibility;
* Evaluating and documenting greenhouse gas emission reduction projects;
* Developing greenhouse gas offset quantification protocols;
* Supporting our partner organizations in related projects;
* Interpreting renewable energy credit and greenhouse gas offset opportunities across multiple regulatory frameworks;
* Overseeing greenhouse gas offset generation project audits; and
* Other technical analysis.

By the nature of the work, the chosen candidate will be involved in all aspects of the projects and will be expected to take on project management responsibilities in the near term. As such, this represents an excellent opportunity to develop both technical and management expertise in a dynamic work environment.

The position may require up to approximately 10% travel.

Profil recherché

Leading Carbon is currently seeking to add a Project Analyst/Manager to its team in Calgary, Alberta. The level of the position will be adjusted to fit the experience/expertise of the qualifying candidate. As such, more senior candidates are encouraged to apply. Fluent English (written/spoken) absolutely necessary and the ability to work in Canada would be an asset.

The ideal candidate should be entrepreneurial, self-motivating and capable of being successful in an open and free-flowing work environment. Candidates should have a strong technical background in engineering or a related technical/environmental discipline. A graduate degree and/or related work experience would be a plus. Specific experience in project or corporate GHG accounting and/or corporate accounting would be a considerable asset.

Strong leadership, quantitative analysis, problem solving skills and client care experience are a must. Clear understanding and interest in issues around climate change and renewable energy preferred. The importance of analytical and communication skills (written and oral) cannot be understated.
