MISSION

Solidarités is a French humanitarian NGO, working in 15 countries worldwide in order to bring humanitarian assistance to vulnerable populations. For over 25 years, the association has concentrated its action on meeting three vital needs - water, food and shelter - by carrying out emergency programs followed by reconstruction projects.

Solidarités is present in Afghanistan since 1980, working on food security and water and sanitation issues. Currently, Solidarités is present in 3 provinces: Kabul, Bamyan and Samangan.

Presentation of the Food Security Programs: Ongoing: Perennial Horticulture Development Project (Kahmard & Saighan districts - Bamyan province) Linking Relief, Rehabilitation and Development (Saighan districts - Bamyan province) Innovative Approach to Rural Development (Yakawlang District – Bamyan Province) Foreseen (2010): Linking Relief, Rehabilitation and Development (Roy Doab District – Samangan province)

FONCTIONS

Main tasks of the Food Security Coordinator:
1/ Management and Support of the Food Security Project Managers Technical and Methodological Support Recruitment and HR follow up Training & Capacity Building
2/ Coordination of Project Cycle Management of Food Security Programs Proposal Making & Amendment Process Internal and External Reporting Supervision of Follow up tools
3/ In-country Food Security situation follow up and Strategy Making Monitoring of the Food Security Situation in Afghanistan Development and implementation of the FS Strategy of the mission
4/ External Coordination and Representation Active Participation to FS Forums & external coordination Representation and Fundraising
