The role offers two key challenges:
- To manage an organisational unit of CRTE, with a range of administrative tasks, coaching of colleagues as well as networking with public and private stakeholders, both at national and international level,
- The strategic development of the unit in terms of R&D activities and consulting services, with a focus on the development and testing of ecotechnologies for wastewater treatment in municipal and industrial applications.
Requirements for this position are:
- PhD or Master Degree in process, chemical or environmental engineering,
- Working experience of 8-10 years in an R&D environment (public or private), with proven organisational skills as a team leader and project manager and experience with fund-raising in national and/or European R&D funding schemes,
- Strong scientific background in physico-chemical and biological wastewater treatment technologies with good publication track record; experience in experimental instrumentation and pilot plant set-up,
- Software literacy: good command of standard office software; scientific programming software (e.g. Python, C++, R, Matlab); modeling software for wastewater treatment processes,
- Fluency in English and French or German, the command of Luxembourgish is an advantage; excellent writing skills in English and preferably in French.
