Descriptif du poste

We are looking for an EVS volunteer from France to join us from February to December 2019. This is a 10 month volunteering position in a project called "Glocality: Resilience in Reality". The volunteering is set in Järna, Sweden.

You will live and spend half of your voluntary work at an ecofarm called Charlottendals Gård, located 2,5 km from Järna town centre. Presently the volunteers are building a new house and base of operations for volunteers, which you will live in. At Charlottendal you will get to learn basic farming skills and knowledge, like: caring for animals; planting, managing and harvesting crops; maintaining farming facilities and equipment; as well as sharing life with a community. Charlottendal is also exploring the possibilities of hosting events, workshops, courses and gatherings. The other half of your time will be spent at different projects supporting the Transition movement both locally and globally. Through these projects you will get to learn permaculture design with a CSA project called Under Tallarna, support global sustainability projects with Föreningen SOFIA, play and build with the children of Lilla Bullerbyn, service bikes and customers at Cykelkultur, and be a part of developing togetherness with Nackunga Community.

We are looking to fill these 3 roles:

1. CARPENTER: A person who loves to build and form structural objects. Presently we are building a base for volunteers (see images), and we will only finish the basic necessities (roof, floor, fireplace, kitchen, bathroom, beds) You will be tasked with i.e. building an outdoor kitchen, a greenhouse covered terass, etc.

2. CARETAKER: Someone who has a great heart, capable of loving and sharing as with your closest family. You will learn how to care for the people and animals, by nourishing them, communicating with them, and helping them in life. Gardening and groceries will become your passion.

3. ADMINISTRATOR: An IT wizard wanting to take the farm and community to the next level in connectivity, marketing, outreach and visibility. You cannot be frightened by grant applications or internet trolls. We wish you to be an inspired documentor of the project and place as well as capable of creating a schedule and navigating the chaotic structure of living in community.

Please note that you will share all of these tasks, but one person will be responsible for each.

You will get free accommodation, food, and a small monthly allowance, as well as support with travel expenses to and from the project.
