The UV Product Manager is directly responsible for the overall profitability and growth of the UV Product Line, owns the Multi-Generation Product Plan (MGPP), and develops short and long range revenue growth plans and competitive strategies for the product line on a global basis.
Responsibilities
• Oversee the total product life cycle for the UV product line utilizing a multi-generational product plan interacting with Technology, Regulatory, Manufacturing, Engineering (ITO and OTR), Q&R, Sourcing, Sales and Marketing to drive product platform improvements, differentiation, penetration and market expansion
• Develop growth and competitive strategies for the product on a global basis. Build, align and develop UV commercial capabilities; Work with Commercial Engineering and Sales to execute strategy
• Develop concepts for new products by analyzing internal and external customer feedback, market research, emerging technology, and competitive trends; Directly own the product portfolio and drive the process of New Product Initiatives (NPI) and their final launch into the marketplace; maintain in-depth understanding of market sizing, segmentation, and shares, the specificities of each segment, and constantly track changes and trends
• Work to develop and execute launch plans to bring NPIs to the market by working closely with the Commercial, Marketing, Technology and Supply Chain teams
• Track the technical and commercial performance of existing and new products relative to plans, and introduce necessary improvements
• Establish and deliver short and long term sales growth and profitability improvement targets for UV and applicable service products; Develop and coordinate execution plans to drive improvement; Track material cost, revenue, fulfillment and CM rates by product, product family, market segment and by geographic region
• Work closely with the Commercial Engineering teams to ensure appropriate high quality sales training, support to Direct, Indirect, and 3rd Party partners, Win/Loss evaluations, installation lists, case studies, sales literature, etc are provided
• Determine pricing structure and implement pricing strategies; Work closely with EAP and Commercial Engineering teams to develop pricing/costing tools, price exception levels of authority, costing standards and execution of product line pricing policy
• Develop, manage and implement product demand forecasts; work closely with PSI and Manufacturing to plan production capacities, and manage production and inventory levels
• Stay closely connected with Technology, Sales and Marketing to maintain a deep knowledge of current product and market developments, in addition to identifying opportunities for new market penetration; Continually evolve product line related Growth Playbook segments
• Work closely with Supply Chain (manufacturing, sourcing), Engineering, and Technology to eliminate low use or high cost products, consolidate product line offering, and substitute lower cost raw materials
• B.S. degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Environmental Engineering
• Minimum 10 years of broad experience covering Technology, product development, process engineering and commercial
• Minimum 10 years of water treatment experience
• Knowledge of UV products
• Experience directly managing a product line
• Experience working with diverse, global teams
• Demonstrated ability to create a vision, a strategy around this vision and drive a plan to execute
• Strong process and project management skills with ability to drive projects and meet deadlines
• Proven success in developing and leveraging cross-functional and cross-business relationships
• Strong analytical and computer skills
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
