The Group HSEQ Director can be based in France, in UK or in Ireland, in our WPO offices. He/she can also be home-based and travel regularly to meet with the team.

THE ROLE
To oversee and manage HSEQ leadership and compliance across all group activities and operational sites in multiple countries (i.e. UK, France, Ireland, Sweden, potentially others in the future). To ensure appropriate HSEQ management systems are developed, maintained and implemented in line with statutory requirements and best industry practices.

The Group HSEQ Director manages, drives forward and engages company employees at all levels in creating and living a high performance and compliant culture. He/she will make the control framework and the company culture evolve to continuously improve the group’s HSEQ performance. He/she will have the responsibility for the overall group HSEQ performance reporting to the CEO, Managing Director and Executive Committee (ExCom). He/she will be accountable for innovating, benchmarking and providing inspiring leadership to drive performance, consistency and compliance across the group.

JOB PURPOSE AND PRIMARY OBJECTIVES
Oversee and manage HSEQ & security compliance across all group activities,
Ensure appropriate HSEQ & security management systems are developed, maintained and implemented in line with statutory requirements, corporate objectives and best industry practices,
Drive a positive HSEQ culture across the group,
Manage and motivate the group HSEQ team in support of the above.

KEY TASKS/ DUTIES
- Take specific responsibility on behalf of the group and be accountable for HSEQ performance and compliance with statutory HSEQ requirements and best industry practices (acknowledging local execution via regional management),
- Develop and implement group-wide strategies, policies and procedures for HSE & security management in liaison with senior leaders across the business,
- Improve and manage the group control framework and audit program to ensure the appropriate management of HSEQ consistently across the group aiming to reach best in class level,
- Influence senior group leaders at all levels to ensure HSEQ is managed as a top priority, driving a very positive HSEQ culture,
- Set relevant group targets and measurement criteria and establish systematic reporting processes on overall group HSEQ performance,
- Take direct responsibility for monthly reporting to ExCom level,
- Take active role in networking, benchmarking and innovating to achieve best in class HSEQ performance,
- In the event of a major incident, take the leading role in providing situation containment and management, which may include interfacing with local, regional and national media as well as with authorities and any other relevant stakeholders,
- Provide active “hands-on” support on HSEQ activities when required.
