The BRGM, French geological survey, is the reference public institution for Earth Science applications in the management of surface and subsurface resources and risks. Its action is oriented towards scientific research, support to public policies and international cooperation.

Context and contribution
The main mission of the BRGM Occitanie is to support decentralized state services and communities in the area of Earth Sciences. With particular regard to coastal activities, the regional division is involved in setting up coastal dynamics observation networks, in coastal risk assessment and the impact of climate change, and in understanding and modeling hydro- and morpho-dynamics (estuaries, lagoons, coastline).
Required skills and experience
- Good knowledge of Matlab, Python and/or Fortran tools (programming and analysis).
- Strong background (both coursework and professional or research experience) in hydrodynamics/morphodynamics.
- Interest or relevant experience in Video monitoring or image processing.
- Holding a boat license would be a plus.
- Good writing skills and ability to adapt communication to different audiences;
- Ability to be a team player and sense of relationship.
- Autonomy and sense of initiative;
- Knowledge of French language would be a plus.
